Research Methods Lecture – Danah Abdulla(1/10/21)
The first lecture in this series briefly touched on different kinds of research methods, and examples of each one. Qualitative research is more focused on for the GDC MA course.
We were encouraged to approach our research from different angles, and that more contemporary methods can be used. Methodological approaches will cover skills needed to manage design projects, and we should be articulate and contextualising what we do and why we do it.

How can Qualitative Research Method help me generate knowledge and insight about my topic? How will it help me find an interesting interpretation of my topic? How can it be valuable to other projects within MA GDC?
I am particularly interested in a specific theme on the MA, which is Proximities and Encounters. I am going to explore Wales and the Welsh language, and how communities in industrial north Wales interacted. Qualitative research methods can help me gather information on how people interact and what the general history of the area is.
